I was encouraged to take part in this event by Derek G3NKS, an active contester and friend from the Cheltenham Amateur Radio Association.
The QSO party isn’t a contest and it runs for the full 24 hours. This particular one was in March, though there is another later in the year. I got on the air by lunchtime as I had a number of errands to run in the morning.
Ultimately as I am not an FOC member although I can work anyone only QSOs with FOC members score ‘points’. The exchange to send is signal report and name, with members sending their membership number.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable few hours spent on 80/40/20/15m working all who called me. A total of 119 QSOs were made and I am looking forward to the next one.
