This model of key was the first paddle I ever used. At the time it was a loaner from Chuck M0AVW who I knew through FISTS. This was a big step up from the straight keys I’d been using and I took to it quickly. It helped my sending speed, which in turn helped increase my receiving speed. This is also the reason I never learned to use an iambic mode keyer.
Since moving to a dual lever key I haven’t gone back to a single lever really, but I did buy one of these second hand so that I had one for historical reasons. It’s a defining part of my Morse code passion.
