This was a good month for me, 122 QSOs and no duplicates. The overall rate worked out to be around 85q/hour and the doublet is still performing well on 80m.

80m CC CW May 2013 – M0PCB
Another decent month for the club championships, 100 QSOs in the log, 4 duplicates leaving 96 claimed. Again managed to keep a run going for the whole contest, though some notable call-signs missing from the log still. I really must get back into trying SO2V!
70MHz CW Contest May 2013 – M0PCB
I was a little late on for this contest, and after some fiddling around I found that with the Funcube Dongle plugged in to the K3 receive antenna port I was getting s7-8 of broadband noise across the 4m Band. I decided to cut my losses and not use the PC during the contest and […]
144MHz UKAC May 2013 – M0PCB
So, I managed to miss the April event, mainly due to having been active in the CQWPX SSB contest at M0VSQ over the Easter bank holiday weekend and then in the 80m CC CW event on the Monday evening. By Tuesday I was contested out. This month was a decent event, 27 QSOs in total, […]
80m CC CW April 2013 – M0PCB
After a weekend of CQWPX SSB this was welcome relief in the fact it was a CW event. Restoring some sense of normality here at M0PCB. I didn’t do any S&P this month, nor did I have the sub-receiver going. Either of those would have required more brain power than I could muster for this […]
CQWPX SSB 2013 – M0VSQ
This year I entered CQWPX SSB from M0VSQ, a group of local amateurs that enjoy contesting. There is a write-up about this contest over at www.m0vsq.co.uk. It was nice to get a modest station on the air, and it’s looking promising for 1st place G in the M/S HP category.
FOC QSO Party March 2013 – M0PCB
I was encouraged to take part in this event by Derek G3NKS, an active contester and friend from the Cheltenham Amateur Radio Association. The QSO party isn’t a contest and it runs for the full 24 hours. This particular one was in March, though there is another later in the year. I got on the […]
70MHz Cumulative #2 March 2013 – M0PCB
This event began the moment that the Commonwealth contest finished. As such I was a little late getting started as I needed to grab another mug of tea and stretch my legs from the previous 4 hours in the chair! As I recall this is the first time I have rolled from one contest straight […]
RSGB Commonwealth Contest 2013 – M0PCB
For me this is the highlight of the year. While the rates don’t match those found in the world-wide events this contest has another appeal. It’s one 24 hour period per year where there are some interesting DX stations active who are looking solely for other Commonwealth Countries, which in practical terms is G and […]
144MHz UKAC March 2013 – M0PCB
This was quite a successful evening in reality. Not my best QSO count, but had to take time out of the contest to speak to the folks. Always an inconvenient time 😉 Was very pleased to work GI4SNA for a new DXCC and a new square (IO64), GD8EXI was a very good signal from IO74. […]
