I had this key for a few years, and for most of that time it was my main key. I had been looking at them for a while, and was going to purchase the Signature Edition instead, but this one came up on eBay. The Palladium base is just amazing and this key is a real looker.
After a while I started to find the action a little clinical. Replacing the finger pieces with shorter ones was an improvement, but again they were aluminium and I still wasn’t able to shake off the clinical feel. I’ve thought long and hard and I still can’t quite put my finger on what it was about this key I didn’t like in the end. The best I can come up with is that the right-angled levers were what was affecting the feel. Perhaps also the fact I didn’t have plastic finger pieces. Other keys I have used that have right-angle levers also didn’t quite feel right to me.
I ended up selling this beauty of a key, with a heavy heart, and replaced it with a Scheunemann (Schurr clone) which has straight levers.
